If you’ve visited The Chip Cave over the last few weeks, you might have noticed a few things have changed. And by a few things, I mean just about everything! On November 1st, our team finally launched the next step of The Chip Cave after being in development for over a year. For that entire year we brainstormed about how we could make things easier, faster, and more aesthetically pleasing for every visitor. I am happy to say, this is what we came up with.
An easy to use, speedy new look.
The biggest difference that visitors will notice is that everything feels smoother, especially when on the go with their phone. Our old website was downright obnoxious when it came to mobile design, making everyone’s experience less than stellar. To our team, that was unacceptable.
We went back to the drawing board and designed our website for the smallest device possible. Then after we perfected everything on that device, we slowly expanded out from there allowing us to make everyone happy. To do this though we had to change the way our visitors navigated our website.
If you were a returning visitor to The Chip Cave, the first thing you noticed was that the top navigation disappeared. Well we substituted with a menu that pops out when you click on the menu link on the top left of every page to save space. We wanted everything navigation wise in one place, so we jam packed that menu with our search bar, every category we could think off, and links to practically everything on our website. But that wasn’t enough for our team, we also needed to make everything faster.
While our old site never had a speed issue per say, we really wanted the new website to zip along. Throughout the entire development our team kept that in mind, always changing and removing unnecessary things that slowed down the website even by a millisecond. We optimized everything to make sure our visitors get get what they wanted, when they wanted it.
We added 200% more products including custom poker chips, poker chip sets, and new playing cards.
We have always said that The Chip Cave has the largest inventory of poker chips and accessories. With our new design, we supported that claim 200% by doubling our store’s inventory! With new poker chip sets, a larger selection of playing cards, and tons of new accessories, we made sure that we carried everything that you need to host that perfect game.
Here is a brief list of some of the new things you can find at The Chip Cave:
- Complete poker chip sets for visitors that are not sure how many of each denomination they want.
- Gemaco, Kem, Modiano, Bicycle, Casino No. 99 and Brybelly playing cards. We also have less expensive paper playing cards for the one off games you have.
- More poker tables. You also no longer need a custom shipping quote to purchase poker tables!
- More poker accessories
Faster and smarter customer service
Last summer, we took a big leap of faith and moved away from full time phone support. It was a hard decision, but one that allowed us to open up faster communication to all of our visitors instead of only a select few.
For customers that need immediate assistance or have simple questions, we have partnered with LiveChat and now offer live chat support. Any visitor can instantly connect with our team and get answers to their questions. Their problem get solved right in front of them and our support team can share links, photos, and other things that make solving their problem easier. It was by far our best decision yet.
If a visitors problem is more complex, we can transfer it to our support ticket system where everything is beautifully organized by urgency so nobody gets forgotten. Visitors get regular update as their issue is handled and can even see when our support team marks the matter as complete.
After only 3 short months, we have already seen the benefits from this move. Our team is able to help twice as many customers as before and has everything in one place to make them more efficient.
We hope you love the new cave! We have worked vigorously to make it everything that our visitors could ask for, and we add more each week. If you have any technical issues, please reach out to our support team at help@chipcave.com.
